Biography:
Dr. Rifat Burak Ergül is a urologist at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, where he has served since 2019, and has furthered his expertise through clinical work at University College London Hospitals in 2024–2025. His professional focus includes endourology, urolithiasis, male genital system disorders, and robotic surgical innovations. He earned his medical degree from Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine (2012–2019) and continues advanced training in urology. Dr. Ergül has authored over twenty international publications, including studies on robotic kidney stone surgery, penile prosthesis outcomes, and urogenital tuberculosis, alongside multiple book chapters on renal diseases, urinary trauma, and gender identity issues. He is an active member of the European Association of Urology (EAU), American Urological Association (AUA), and the Endourological Society. Recognized as a reviewer for leading journals such as BJU International and World Journal of Urology, he frequently presents at international congresses, contributing to advancements in surgical innovation and academic urology.
