Dr. Roman Lysiuk is an esteemed Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacognosy and Botany at Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University in Ukraine. He earned his Master’s and PhD degrees in Pharmacy from the same institution, specializing in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Pharmacognosy. His doctoral thesis, completed in 2021, focused on the pharmacognostic study of medicinal plant species with nephroprotective (hypoazotemic) activity, particularly the genus Astragalus.
He has authored over 190 scientific and methodological publications, contributing significantly to the fields of pharmacognosy and phytomedicine
In addition to his academic responsibilities, Dr. Lysiuk serves as the Director of the Council for Nutritional and Environmental Medicine (CONEM) in Norway and as the Secretary of the Ukrainian Branch of CONEM. He has participated in international internships and training seminars at medical universities in Lublin and Gdansk, Poland.
Dr. Lysiuk is also an active member of several editorial boards of scientific journals, including the Pharmacognosy Journal, Research Journal of Pharmacy and Technology, and Journal of Phytochemistry & Biochemistry. His expertise is recognized globally, and he continues to contribute to the advancement of pharmacognosy and phytotherapy through his research and editorial work.
